Bike Fit Process
–
A great bike fit combines supportive technology with human expertise to analyse and amend the position that you hold on your bike. Precise Performance uses the support but does not rely on the motion capture system Retül, combined with a tailored physical assessment to understand the limitations and imbalances in the body. This offers our clients the most accurate and precise bike fitting available.
Using anatomically placed LED markers, the 3D analysis camera reads the rider’s movements whilst in motion on the bike. The system collects real time, three-dimensional data which cannot otherwise be accurately captured by the human eye. Our fit specialist then interprets your physical assessment data using their own expertise and applies this information to make educated changes to your bike set up.
The process is comprehensive and focused to ensure we specifically trouble shoot the areas that need change. We will ensure a full assessment of the body has been carried before making any adjustments so we understand the limitations and imbalances that the body naturally has and ensure they are supported when finding the ideal riding position for you.
We spend a length of time assessing your feet, they are an important part of the puzzle. Without the correct foot/shoe/pedal interface, the rider will likely struggle to maximise their performance and may struggle with discomfort across multiple areas of their body.

What will you achieve?

Balance
Key for riding safely, balance is improved by holding an optimum position on the bike. This makes a professional fit important for riders across all disciplines and all levels. Precise Performance are experienced in Road, Triathlon, Time Trial, CX and Mountain Bike fitting.
Comfort
Whether you are commuting or racing, bike position dictates your comfort. Badly positioned bike fit will potential see a level of discomfort creep in but also heightens your risk of injury.
Efficiency
By establishing a position that supports your muscle movement, a professional bike fit provides the rider with the most economic means of expanding energy. Once you have adapted, you will reap the benefits.
Power
A result of increased efficiency, your bike fit will not just unlock the natural power that you transfer to the pedal in the short term. In the long term, an optimal bike position will support your training to continuously increase your power output.
Enjoyment
We ride bikes for fun, so when you are comfortable, injury free and efficient, you can enjoy the ride, every ride.

What happens throughout the fitting process?
–
STEP 1:
Starting with a in depth physical assessment, we will assess your body’s limitations, imbalances and areas of weakness. With this in mind, we then collaborate to identify positive goals on your bike whilst understanding your previous or current injury history.
STEP 2:
At this point we spend a period of time to make sure that your cleat positioning is optimal for you. We will also address any support that may be needed to improve stability.
STEP 3:
From there, we will work on bike position. We then make educated changes based from what see and from what we know from the physical assessment whilst using the motion capture system to assess certain movements.
STEP 4:
Once we arrive at your optimum bike position, we will create a digital map of your final bike set up. The bike data measurements generate a complete fit report that you can reference at any time after the fitting session.
STEP 5:
Post-fit, we arrange a follow-up appointment to take place approximately 6 to 8 weeks from your initial fit. Here, we will discuss your adapted position and answer any questions or concerns you may have. We will analyse the riding position and make any adjustments needed to further improve your bike fit.
